Project:
Thermal management & new heatsink design for a 19” rack mounted product containing high-performance optical modules
Work involved the design of a bespoke heatsink for the optical modules and the redesign of mechanical packaging to manage airflow through the heatsinks.
Thermal simulation work was performed using our in-house proprietary 1-D heatsink modelling tools followed by 3D SolidWorks CFD Simulation. Mechanical CAD work was performed using CREO.
Project culminated in the sourcing of the new heatsink from off-shore supplier.
